The journey has really not been easy at all, if any of my friends or people who know me will be able to say themselves how much I enjoy my nights out. January fair enough wasn't that bad, but when it got to February onward when people was getting money again after Christmas, I was getting invites on nights out by surprise, there were some who came through to Scarborough wanting to have a night out with me and I had to say no, there was friends who have offered me a couple of pints if I did come out but I couldn't go, There were even friends who I have known for at least 10 years if not more whose birthdays it was, there was someones 18th whose not gonna have another birthday like that and even my own birthday I stayed in. People have even gone to the extent of removing me of FB because I haven't been out.
This looks like that I have somewhat alienated my friends and haven't been there for them when they wanted me there, honestly speaking I do feel bad about it, but hey I like to be able to follow up on what I say no matter how ridiculous it sounds. The moral of this is if you want something so much, then you got to sometimes work hard, stay committed and make sacrifices to get it. Yeah there has been people who has removed me and it goes to show what commitment means to them.
But during the 1st months, I had to decide on the Asian destination in which I was going to, I had several suggestions, but I had to make up my mind by March so I could work on it. The choices in the end were;
- Taipei - Been there before, pretty cool place and I enjoyed it, I would be familiar with the destination and this time, I would be able to make the most out of my time much better.
- Kuala Lumpur - Somewhere new, big city with what looks like a more party nightlife, I'm usually the type of person that likes a bit of variety in life.
The difference between going to Asia last year and this year is that I've learnt more of the language and even a little Malay (still don't know how to say fucking prawn), I know at least more then ni hao (hello) and zaijian (goodbye), I can introduce myself now and I've learnt a few other bits which I'll leave as a surprise for the Malaysians. I still don't know how to use chopsticks so I can either ask for in Mandarin cha zi or in Malay garpu. Also theres a friend who I met recently that has gotten me lots of cheap transport methods and KLCC tower tickets (thanks Emily, I owe you :D). Now its for me to get packing and enjoy an experience of a lifetime as this I believe will be the most important trip I will ever go to.
I was hoping for a vlog, but I have no time no and I did about 8 full takes and I'm pissed off doing a full vlog and having to start again, but I'll make it up somehow I promise.
